    She was a native of Nantahala but had lived most of her life in Andrews.

    Mr. Jarrett was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Arista, W.Va., to the late Alozo Jarrett and Belle Bland.

    Col. Gary E. Payne (R) of Wimauma, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020.
    Col. Payne was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., in August 1950.

    Randal Hubert Shields, 85, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020, at his home.
    He was the son of the late Robert Emory and Gertie Anderson Shields.

    Spencer A. Smith, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, from complications due to dementia. He was 82.
