The first Methodist Church in Andrews was a crude structure built around 1880 at the top of cemetery hill. It was beside the old funeral home building, which is still standing, and the place where Capt. Stephen Porter became a Christian and the first man to join Valleytown Methodist Church. This old picture is the Methodist Church built in 1894 in town on the school house hill, where Porter was named the first Sunday school superintendent.

Paying taxes is never fun – but prison time is much worse.
