MURPHY – Mayor Tim Radford was elected Vice President of the N.C. Mayors Association, putting him first in line to become the next president of the group.
More than 70 mayors from across the state gathered in Raleigh on May 5 for the N.C. Mayors Association Annual Meeting during the NCLM CityVision Conference.
The keynote address was given by N.C. State Rep. Gloristine Brown, who is also the former mayor of Bethel and 2019-21 NCMA Chair. The event was both an educational and networking opportunity for the mayors who attended.
In the association's annual elections, all in unanimous votes, the following officers were elected:
- President: Mayor Olivia Dawson, Burgaw
- Vice President: Mayor Tim Radford, Murphy*
- Immediate Past President: Mayor Donald Andrews, Broadway
