Starting Tuesday, March 4, a section of the Murphy River Walk & Canoe Trail boardwalk will be closed for needed repairs. This section goes from the McClelland Street parking area to the covered bridge (shown in the photo above). Walkers will be able to bypass this section by using the section from the Thomas Street parking area to the covered bridge, where it rejoins the main path. This area will be closed for a few days as rotted posts and boards are replaced.

Anngee Quinones-Belian/ Staff Correspondent A semi-truck flipped on its side, scattering the trailer’s load along the highway, over a guardrail and into the embankment on U.S. 64 West at Tilson Road about 6:18 p.m. Feb. 25 in Ranger. Calls went out about 6:18 p.m. No one was injured. Traffic was rerouted until an incident involving another truck had drivers turning around and going back toward the four-lane highway again. The scene lasted for several hours.
