MURPHY – Murphy welcomes American Idol contestant Braden Rumfelt home for a free concert this on Thursday.
The concert starts at 7 p.m. at Konahete Veterans Park in Murphy.
Sponsored by Downtown Murphy and Visit Cherokee County, the concert features Rumfelt along with his full band to celebrate his recent accomplishment in reaching the Top Five contestants on Season 24 of the popular talent show.
Rumfelt has spent his time since the May 11 show’s finale in a spate of concerts including recent appearances at Nashville’s Kane Brown’s on Broadway and the popular Country Music Association’s CMA Fest along with a worship concert this past Saturday at Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds’ Anderson Music Hall with his Idol alumni Sam Cox and Daniel Stallworth.
The show is also a part of the new Murphy Mountain Music Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Cherokee County Tourism Development Authority.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the open air show. Parking details will be announced prior to the show on social media. Food trucks will also be on site and open at 6 p.m. along with merchandise sales.
