Nicole Wright/Staff Correspondent Andrews Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7620 will hold its annual Hot Summer Nights Car Show downtown Andrews from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission for spectators is free, and there will be plenty of classic bikes, cars and trucks on display. Food and vendors will also be out. All money raised will help support national VFW programs in local schools – including Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy, which help teach middle and high schoolers about basic themes of America

The most notable difference between then and now is the intersection of Valley River Avenue and Hiwassee, Peachtree and Tennessee streets. Gone is a four-way traffic signal, replaced by a traffic circle. Pocket parks at the four corners are also under construction.
