Fifth annual Alzheimer’s Walk: Members of the Rotary Club of Murphy met Sept. 15 under the pavilion at the Rock Gym in Murphy – with partners Reach of Cherokee & Graham Counties, the Andrews Lions Club and the Mayor’s Rising Stars youth group – to raise more than $3,000 for the Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust.

Moment of silence: The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office held a moment of silence at 10 a.m. Sept. 11.
