Body Andrews – Gov. Roy Cooper’s latest executive order to slow the spread of the coronavirus went into effect last Friday night, banning alcohol sales at restaurants after 11 p.m.

Body Murphy – Commissioners agreed to deed county-owned land to the Murphy and Hiwassee Dam fire departments at virtually no cost instead of leasing the property to the agencies.

Different first day of class lies ahead

Body There will be Christmas this year for all children in Cherokee County, as bikers made the first steps to guarantee that Saturday during the Toys for Tots Toy Run. “We’re ecstatic with the turnout,” said Corey Wike, one of the organizers from Western NC Wingmen motorcycle club.
