Chuck Van Gorder was assigned as an infantry platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Division in the Republic of South Vietnam. The soldiers named their platoon “Baron’s Bastards” and all had nicknames, Chuck of course was called “Baron.” This picture was taken during Van Gorder’s tour of duty in 1968-69.
