Hiwassee Dam park project is struggling

Body Hiwassee Dam – A planned community park for western Cherokee County is struggling to acquire the necessary grant funding and may be downsized if the necessary funds aren’t secured.

Body Murphy – While many students are enjoying their summers, the positive effects of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Cherokee County are still happening.
Anngee Quinones-Belian/Staff Correspondent  Dolores Maresca and Dorothy Graczyk are not only friends, but winners of a writing contest about staying connected. May is Older Americans Month, and local seniors were encouraged to share stories through Cherokee County Department of Social Services. The two ladies received gifts and recognition for their entries while at Murphy Rehab & Nursing Center in Peachtree on June 19.
