Shelter needs volunteers
For the past 30 months, New Digs for Dogs has been volunteering at the Valley River Humane Society. As a team we accomplish many projects and purchase needed items for our animal shelter. We thank all our monthly volunteers for their dedication.
Special thanks to Pat Kern for his weekly volunteer spirit, problem solving and maintenance of the shelter. He and his wife, Jeannette, implement fundraisers to benefit VRHS.
Under the direction of New Digs for Dogs President Terry Drinkut, our team also provided holiday meals for the staff. We can always count on Kendra Martin for her contribution to our meals, the staff look forward to her special salads and delicious cupcakes from scratch. Mike Worden and Bob Morrell help also.
These are those who have donated funds to help with our projects: Grannys Attic of Hayesville, Trish Cahpin, Pat and Jennette Kern, Dave and Melanie Favilla and Chip and Diane Jones.
These are the businesses and churches that have helped: Mark, owner of The Velvet Poodle in Murphy; First Baptist Church of Murphy; Tri-County Office Supply in Hayesville; and Victoria’s Attic in Blairsville, Ga.
We as a community can always do something to help our animal shelter.
Our shelter covers Clay, Cherokee and Graham counties. Any donation can help the local humane society.
Never leave your pet in a hot car; even with the windows down and in the shade, cars can reach 160 F in minutes. Always provide plenty of extra water in the summer. Avoid hot pavement on your dogs paws.
Adopt from rescue groups or the humane society. Spay and neuter your pets and identify them with a tag so if lost they can be returned.

‘Genocide’ is pure evil
When will Zionist Christians realize that supporting Israel’s genocide is evil? An estimated 48,500 Palestinians have been murdered, of which 16,200 were children; 100,600 are injured; 2 million are starving.
Imagine you’re a child, it’s 3 a.m. and your apartment has been bombed. You’re crushed beneath the rubble. You cry out “Daddy!” but he doesn’t answer, because he’s dead. You hear your mother moaning, she can’t rescue you.
You’re bleeding to death. You’re in horrific pain. You cry out, but no one answers. You can hardly breathe because your lungs are being crushed. You can’t move. It’s hot, dark and you’re terrified; 15,100 children have been crushed to death.
Zionist Christian churches proudly wave the flag of Israel. Rabbis claim the flag bears the “Star of David,” but that’s a lie. The Bible doesn’t mention King David having a star, nor is there any record from historians of a Star of David.
Acts 7:43: “Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.”
Amos 5:26: “But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.”
Israelites were committing child sacrifices, Jeremiah 19:4-5, “to burn their sons with fire for burnt offerings unto Baal.”
Should Christians wave Israel’s flag with its star?
When the people rejected their Messiah, Jesus called them “antichrist” (1 John 2:22-23). They are under God’s wrath
(1 Thessalonians 2:14-16).
Would our heavenly Father continue to call them His “chosen people?”

What do we really need?
This letter is written for the taxpayers and all children of Cherokee County especially Murphy. Like a Walt Disney movie quotes from Timon to Pumba: “Sit down before you hurt yourself.”
To our school board: There’s already a mess in our schools, so take the worst school and renovate it during summer vacation. What happened to car washes/bake sales with yard sales/block buying as well as money from the state lottery for this?
To our county commissioners: We had enough of stupidity spending; just look at our crosswalks, especially at the McDonald’s so-called intersection, the crossing Hiwassee Street at the bank and Hackney Warehouse.
To our firefighters, especially Wolf Creek: We do not need to increase taxes. We need to lower our community building prices so people like me (which I need a new truck for health and remodeling issues) can use this building (once again).
Why do you think the Hot House Fire Department got its name ripped away and changed to Wolf Creek?
To our governor: Where is all our money going for these causes? If I was Roy Cooper’s wife, I would have divorced him when I came to Murphy and seen gas and food prices, and dead animals on the highway.
I can help taxpayers with what we really need in Murphy.

Help pupils hit potential
Thanks again, Publisher David Brown, for another important editorial in the June 12 edition of the Cherokee Scout.
Students have been losing in our county for many years. Students should be inspired to reach their full potential.
