How to spend next 4 years
Gas prices on the rise again. The United States’ strategic oil reserve can hold 714 million barrels, but it is now less than 350 million barrels, the lowest level since 1985, reduced by order of President Joe Biden in an effort to lower gas prices.
With an election coming up, I suppose he will stick his hand back in the cookie jar – oil reserve. He had promised to refill it by late 2023, just another Biden lie.
The worth of the dollar has fallen 14 percent under Biden. You know this to be true every time you go to the store or gas pump, or pay a utility bill.
Biden claims the crime rate is lower than it was under President Donald Trump.
From Jan. 1 to March 25, 70 illegals on the terrorist watch list have been apprehended. Who knows how many got through? With all these terrorists here, and more on the way, it is just a matter of when there will be another terrorist attack on U.S. soil.
China is buying American land at an alarming rate; as of June 26, 2023, they owned 380,000 acres. Border authorities have encountered 52,000 Chinese immigrants crossing the border in the fiscal year 2023. These are different immigrants because they are not families, but fighting-age males.
U.S. Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) proposed an amendment to bar illegal immigrants from being counted in the Census. The Senate, controlled by Democrats, defeated this amendment, 45-51. This means redistricting, which means more congressional seats and Electoral College votes for Democrats.
The presidential election in November is nothing like eternity, but think long and hard how you’d like to spend your next few years.

We should be better than that
Mary Mason’s question in the May 8 Cherokee Scout Your Views section, “What’s happening on the campuses of Harvard, Yale, Stamford, MIT and Columbia?’’ has a simple answer.
These easily manipulated students have been brainwashed by their Marxist-leaning college professors, who have twisted documented history and current facts for their own perverse reasons, along with biased media who inflame people with inaccurate information.
In response, the students are proving that the human brain doesn’t fully develop until the mid-to-late 20s. Therefore, the eruption of such needless, mindless, irresponsible, hateful and sometimes violent anti-Semitic student protests on college campuses.
Most of us probably remember how we thought we knew it all around age 20, only to later learn how very wrong we were.
Disruptive students – along with their conscienceless, mind-twisting professors and certain administrators – must be held accountable for all anti-Semitic, as well as any racial, campus protests. This harmful, obnoxious behavior and lack of disciplinary action have absolutely no place in America.
Shame on these students and all contributing adults. We should be better than that.
