Why I can’t vote Trump
One of my co-workers recently asked me if I was going to vote for former President Donald Trump.
I told him no, and said, “A vote for Trump is a vote for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin.” He kind of laughed and said, “No it isn’t.”
I assured him it was. “Since Trump has announced he would send no more money to Ukraine, this means Trump supports Putin. So, a vote for Trump is a vote for Putin.”
My friend said, “Well Trump supports Ukraine; he’s just not going to give them any money.”
Then I said, “If he is not going to give them any money this means Trump is supporting Russia. That is why I said a vote for Trump is a vote for Putin.”
What I said is rooted in biblical truth. Do you remember the parable of the Good Samaritan found in Luke 10? A Jewish man had been beaten and robbed. A priest and then a Levite see the man but do nothing. Then a Samaritan, a hated person who had both Jew and Gentile blood within him, stopped and helped.
After binding up his wounds, the Good Samaritan took the injured man to an inn, gave the innkeeper some money and told him to look after him. Then he said, “If I have not given you enough, I will repay you the next time I come.”
Jesus then said it was the Samaritan, not the Priest nor the Levite, who showed mercy or helped the injured man.
When Trump promises not to support Ukraine financially, he is not helping them but their enemy, who is Putin in Russia. That is why I said, and believe, that a vote for Trump is a vote for Putin.
As a Christian, I cannot support Trump. I can’t support or vote for someone who helps our enemy, associates with porn stars and lies like the devil. I feel there is a verse that describes my opposition to Trump on biblical reasons. It is 2 Corinthians 7:1:
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
I do not think supporting Trump in any way is as the verse says, “Perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Hamby family offers thanks
Our family would like to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, visits, food and other kind expressions of sympathy. Your prayers and support during this difficult time will always be remembered.
There are simply no words to fully express our heartfelt thanks for all the love and care you have extended to our family at the loss of our dad, Dee Hamby Sr.
We are heartbroken, but we know he is no longer suffering.
One of our dad’s most favorite songs was “Are You Born Again” by Cedar Hill. It is our fervent prayer that you all are “born again.”

Removal of unfit sheriff
Special prosecutors with the N.C. Attorney General’s office apparently no longer views police who shoot unarmed citizens, who lie to obtain false warrants, who false imprison citizens, who conspire to cover up crimes and who violate citizens civil rights as crimes. That’s a relief.
With no statute of limitations, I will be resubmitting my petition for the removal of Cherokee County Sheriff Dustin Smith. Incoming Commissioners Alan Bryant and Justin Hyde have been forwarded a copy for their review, as I am asking both to show leadership and bring my request to a motion. County attorney Darryl Brown will present the removal petition to a Superior Court judge for argument if successful.
Removal of an unfit sheriff is a legal and civil process used in accordance with North Carolina laws to remove sheriffs who violate their oath of office.
Commissioners need to muster the courage to protect its citizens and this community from a sheriff’s office willing to destroy an innocent man’s life and imprison him for a crime he did not commit. The office of sheriff, in its current state, is an existential threat to every citizen in this community.
I will continue with my mass emails and letters in order to keep the community informed. Don’t let your personal feelings toward me get in the way of doing what is right for this community.
Surely, there are three commissioners willing to protect its community.
You do not have to wait for November. Smith is unfit to hold office, and for commissioners to leave him in office is emboldening the weaponization of government against its citizens.

‘The Crowned Head’ poem
The King of Kings bows his head,
Before the Father and to the earth,
And to Longinus who made sure He was dead.
The pull of earth revealed His crown
That pierced His precious head by
Reflections of our sins … into red wet ground.
Mary looks up through a shower of tears.
Time splits in two with the temple veil …
Darkness, absence of Him and unbearable fears.
The King of Kings visits the dead.
Then He begins His ascent
To His Father and throne …
The promise of ages just as the prophets said …
The King of Kings shall rule
Because of His Precious Crowned Head.
