Career & Technical Education programs are shaping the future workforce, and advanced manufacturing classes in high school are a key part of that mission.
The Cherokee County School of Innovation in Peachtree is leading the way with its cutting-edge Advanced Manufacturing classes, where students gain hands-on experience in the field. Instructor Tony Pace brings the classroom to life every day with creative and innovative projects that challenge students to think critically and apply real-world skills.
Students in advanced manufacturing CTE courses at Cherokee County School of Innovation gain essential skills in several key areas. They learn the assembly, operation, maintenance and repair of electromechanical equipment and devices, gaining hands-on experience in working with complex machinery.
Students also engage with robotics technology, gaining practical skills that are highly sought after in today’s workforce.
Additionally, students explore the various materials used in manufacturing processes, learning how to select and work with different substances for product creation.
Design is another key focus, as students are taught how to develop products for efficient manufacturing. Safety is emphasized throughout the program, with students mastering industry-standard safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
Finally, the program fosters leadership development, helping students build the skills needed to excel in the manufacturing industry.
One specialized initiative, the Advanced Manufacturing program, offers a structured pathway for students pursuing careers in manufacturing. Through this program, students take a series of courses designed to build expertise in materials, design and safety while cultivating leadership abilities for future roles in the field.
By equipping students with these technical and professional skills, CTE programs are shaping the next generation of industry leaders and ensuring that high school graduates are workforce-ready for high-demand careers in manufacturing.
