Cherokee County is proud to offer Health Science courses at every high school campus, ensuring students have access to industry knowledge and real-world experiences.
At Andrews High School, Stephanie Davenport is bringing health care to life for her students through engaging labs and hands-on experiences. These opportunities allow Andrews High students to explore whether a career in health care is the right fit for them. In addition to teaching at Andrews High, Davenport also instructs Health Science classes in the afternoons at the Schools of Innovation in Peachtree, giving students from two schools the chance to learn about the human body and the vast career opportunities available in healthcare.
At Hiwassee Dam High School, Nicole Hamby has stepped into the role of Health Science teacher and quickly established an exciting and engaging program. With guest speakers and hands-on experiments, she is sparking interest in her students and providing them with real-world insights into the medical field. Her enthusiasm and dedication make her an incredible asset to HDHS.
Finally, at Murphy High School, Dr. Barbara Haydon brings years of experience to her students. Under her leadership, students have already completed a blood drive this spring and have begun their clinical experiences, gaining firsthand exposure to the health-care industry.
Health Science is an exciting and essential program, helping to shape the future of health care by preparing the next generation of professionals.
Cherokee County Schools is proud to offer these opportunities and celebrate the dedicated educators who make them possible.
