Officials of Cherokee County Schools’ Career & Technical Education Department, alongside Career Development, announce the upcoming Fall Career Expo on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at First Baptist Church of Murphy.
This event will be split into two sessions – the morning session from 8:30 a.m. to noon will be dedicated to students, while the afternoon session from 1-3 p.m. will be open to the wider community. This inclusive approach allows both students and community members to gain insights and make valuable connections with local employers and organizations.
This event is designed for all juniors and seniors from local high schools, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to explore career paths and connect with potential employers.
While some students may already have clear plans for their future, others are still searching for the right fit. The Career Expo serves as a perfect opportunity for students to learn about the various industries and career options available in the community and surrounding regions.
CTE recognizes the importance of giving students real-world exposure to local job markets and industries, and this event will play a crucial role in helping them explore their potential career paths.
A diverse range of participants will be present, including Murphy Rehab & Nursing Home, Panel Built, NC Works, AWP Safety, Andrews Truss, Blue Ridge Mountain Electric Membership Corp., Cherokee County Sheriff’s office, U.S. Army, Aegis, Cherokee County Human Resources, Cherokee County Emergency Medical Services, N.C. Department of Transportation, Erlanger Hospital, U.S. Forest Service, N.C. Highway Patrol, Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, State Employees Credit Union, First Citizens Bank, U.S. Air Force, Industrial Opportunities Inc., Harrah’s Casinos and the Tennessee Valley Authority.
The Career Expo is expected to provide vital information, resources and networking opportunities for all attendees. The Cherokee County Schools CTE department remains committed to supporting students as they navigate their futures, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to succeed in the workforce.
Mark your calendars for this exciting event.
