Marble – In today’s world, information may be found in lots of places. Yet sometimes it is hard to find details when specific resources are needed.

That is why a drive through resource fair has been planned for Cherokee County residents from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Marble Springs Baptist Church, just off U.S. 19/74.

Hosted by Mountain Strong, the prevention |team of Mountain Projects, the drive through resource fair will offer a variety of free materials for families and individuals to take home.

Vecinos will be onsite with their medical van offering free vaccines, and Cherokee County Parents as Teachers educator Brenda Millett will bring fun kids’ activities along with free children’s books. Some other agencies represented include Four Square Community Action, Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center, Healthy Blue, Hope 4 NC, Family Network for Region A, MANNA, Mountain Projects, Triple P Positive Parenting, Vaya Health and more.

Whether someone needs to know about local food programs, parenting tips, childcare information, insurance options for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, or fun ideas for kids, several agencies and organizations will share information. Anyone may drive through and receive free reusable bags filled with informational resources from the participating local organizations.

In addition, attendees may park their cars and visit the tables of some agencies onsite. Many of the resources will be available in Spanish at a special table for
all of our Spanish-speaking residents.

                The event is free to
everyone and is being held as a partnership between Mountain Projects, the Cherokee Scout, Marble Springs Baptist Church and all of the participating agencies.
