Murphy defeats Hiwassee Dam in extra innings again

Body Murphy – For the second time this year, seven innings wasn’t enough to decide a winner between Murphy and Hiwassee Dam.
The Regal Hotel, a three-story landmark on downtown Murphy square, fronted on two streets, with a bank and a department store on the ground floors. It was gutted by fire in July 1978, and later demolished to make way for a bank. This photo is from a postcard.
