Body Andrews – The Western North Carolina Wagon Train nearly canceled its yearly Independence Day expedition through town due to a raw sewage leak at a local trailer park.

The Allens and other residents ages 65 and older shared their stories in May. The contest will be an annual event.

Body The Cherokee County Department of Social Services invited members of the community ages 65 and older to share their life story for Older Americans Month.

Murphy’s annual fireworks display will be held on July 3 at what locals call “dark-thirty” at Konehete Park, off Valley River Avenue in Murphy. Get there early for a good spot.
