Body Peachtree – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cherokee County held its annual Gala on Sept. 30 at McGuire’s Millrace Farm with the theme, “The Roaring ’20s.”
The Learning Center charter school, once considered a gem in the community, has been closed since June 2022. The longtime campus, consisting of multiple buildings and trailers, on Connahetta Street in Murphy is in the process of being sold to local investors, who have not revealed their future plans for the property.

DOT pressing ahead with U.S. 64 roundabout
