Cherokee County Sheriff Dustin Smith and members of the sheriff’s office, along with Cherokee County Schools Company Police Chief Brent Hardin, recently participated in a conference call with Eddie Buffaloe Jr. from the N.C. Department of Public Safety, Robert Schurmeir from the State Bureau of Investigation, Nicholas Clint from the Department of Homeland Security and Bob Dewitt from the Federal Bureau of Investigation to discuss school safety concerns statewide.

Her family is asking for donations to help acquire a handicap-assessable van to make transportation to and from her many appointments easier.

Town objects to bad parkers

Body Murphy – State government vehicles have been parking in front of the Cherokee County Historical Museum, and town officials aren’t happy about it.

County shows love, support after hurricane

Body Murphy – The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Murphy Fire Department were hard at work Sunday afternoon collecting needed supplies for those affected by Hurricane Helene.
