- Cannon Crompton/sports@cherokeescout.com The N.C. Bluebird Society held their first meeting for far-west members Friday afternoon at Downtown Pizza in Murphy. In attendance were members and prospective members from Andrews, Hayesville and Murphy. The group was founded in 1986 and is based in Raleigh with the goal to preserve and educate people on bluebirds, as well as other cavity nesting birds.
