Boat class in Hayesville
With summer quickly approaching, boaters are ready to get back on the water. Today and Thursday, N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission officer Garrett Brown will be hosting a boater safety class in Hayesville. State law requires anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 to have a Boater Safety Certification to operate a vessel of 10 horsepower or larger. Andrews hosts
football camp
Andrews youth football and cheer will be hosting a youth football camp at Heritage Park in Andrews. The camp will be June 15-16, 18-19, 22-23 and 25-26. It will be 6-8 p.m. each day. There will be a pool party for campers on June 26, the last day of camp. The camp has free registration and you can sign-up the day of camp. Cleats are recommended.
VOLLEYBALL
Wildcats host camp
Andrews High School is hosting a youth volleyball camp on Tuesday-Wednesday June 16-17 in the Andrews High School gym.
Rising third through fifth graders will be 9-10:30 a.m. and rising sixth through eighth graders will be 10:30 a.m. to noon each day of camp. The camp will focus on basic fundamentals, developing proper skills and mechanics, as well as gaining knowledge of game play experiences.
The camp will be led by Andrews High School coaches and athletes. Campers are to wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes, as well as bring a water bottle. To learn more contact varsity head coach Shanna Mustin at shanna.mustin@cherokee.k12.nc.us.

Dogs host soccer camp
Murphy High School will be hosting a youth soccer camp this summer. The camp will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, June 23-25 at the field behind Lowes in Murphy. The three-day soccer camp will focus on training, teamwork and soccer fun. For more details, visit the Murphy High School Athletics Facebook page.

Camp in Andrews
A faith-based football camp will be held at Andrews High School in July. From 1-5 p.m. on July 21-22, rising first through rising fifth graders can participate in the camp. From 1-5 p.m. on July 23-24, rising sixth through 12th graders can participate in camp.
The camp will be focused on faith, discipline and character. Those at the camp will learn from current and former college athletes, including players from Western Carolina University and the University of Oklahoma.
The camp is $70 and includes a t-shirt and autographs from college athletes. Campers should bring athletic clothes, cleats, a water bottle and sunscreen, as well as a positive attitude and heart.
