Law officers in Andrews?
In June, we met with Andrews Mayor James Reid to discuss the possibility of our company going under contract with the Town of Andrews for police services.
At that meeting, we asked for the city’s budget for the police department, Larissa Dooley sent us a budget for $700,000. We made several calls and left messages for Larissa to make sure these numbers was correct because we had concerns about items such as insurance and vehicle purchases.
Larissa never called us back.
The city’s budget would pay for six officers to be hired. We submitted a proposal for $600,000 and would hire 12 officers. Six officers and a chief and five security surveillance room officers to monitor 20 CCTV cameras located throughout the city in high-crime areas.
We were told that our proposal would be presented to the Andrews Board of Aldermen on June 9. After that date, we made several calls to the city, and no one would return our calls.
I was told that the reason our proposal was not excepted was we were double the cost of the present budget. But the budget we got from the city was much higher than our cost.
We were never given the reason why our proposal wasn’t excepted. No one in city hall, including the mayor, would return our calls.
If a client gives me a budget, I will do one of two things. Come in at or under the budget, or tell the client we cannot meet that budget and can’t bid the account.
Does Andrews really want a police department?

What is your future about?
How can we face tomorrow with a clear mind of knowing that God above has everything under His mighty hand of |grace?
Today is hard enough to figure out with all the terrible things that seem to flood our world daily at an alarming rate and we wonder what is God up to?
How can we find comfort and even a peace in this chaotic upside-down world?
The good news for all of us who serve the Lord Jesus Christ is we have a hope for a brighter tomorrow full of great promises that we can claim as children of God.
God’s word is full of all truth and when one reads about His awesome love for you and me, my heart is full
of joy overflowing and abounding in mercy and grace as we walk by faith, trusting every word that Jesus spoke is like money in the ban. It draws interest and pays great dividends when we depart from this world into a new and exciting eternal world that promises His children will never fade away, never let you down, never disappoint you. A place where sin is prohibited and only those who have been born- again can partake of all that heaven offers.
We all whether believers or not have an appointed time when we shall stand in front of King Jesus and give an account of our actions on Earth, and our actions will determine where we spend eternity – in heaven with Jesus Christ, or in hell with Satan and his fallen angels.
Yes, even angels had to make a choice to serve God, their Creator, or Satan, the author of all lies. I pray from my heart that you will decide to follow Jesus and face tomorrow with joy in your soul forevermore in glory.
