Building sale a wrong deal

Hello, citizens of Cherokee County.

As the vice commander of American Legion Post 96, I would like to make you aware of a major injustice being perpetuated on our veterans by the state and national Disabled American Veterans.

They are trying to sell a building that was donated to veterans back in 2007. Every veteran in Cherokee County should be outraged at this total injustice.

The DAV is spending money that should be going to benefit veterans, not to pay overpriced lawyers.

Editor’s note: There is an ongoing lawsuit over this building.

Remember the unborn

In the Sept. 22 edition of the Cherokee Scout, guest columnist Kelly Hyde wrote “covid vaccines are a gift from God.”

Although partially correct, I am sure the vaccines that used aborted stem cell research to create their vaccine are not.

Two human fetal cell lines are used to produce five covid-19 vaccines. They include four vaccines that use HEK-293 cells, acellline derived from the kidney from a fetus aborted in the early 1970s, and one using a Per C6 cell line from an aborted fetus in 1985.

These cell line used to produce Astrazenica Oxford, Johnson & Johnson and CanSino bio adenovirus vector vaccine have been progated for decades and no longer contain remnants of actual fetal tissue.

However, Moderna did not use this research and was the main serum used at the Cherokee County Health Department.

To state unequivocally what are God’s intentions is a personal opinion, as is mine to only receive vaccines that have no involvement in the murder of the unborn.

Area business does great job

As a recent visitor to Cherokee County, I would like to thank the folks at Galloway’s Automotive in Andrews for working on my vehicle.

I first contacted three large automobile dealerships in Cherokee County asking for an appointment to check out the significance of an engine warning light on my Nissan pickup. None of these dealerships would even give me an appointment, as each told me to go to a Nissan dealership. There isn’t one within 100 miles of Murphy.

However, on the recommendation of an Andrews friend, I contacted Galloway’s Automotive. I called and explained my visitor status to the young lady who answered the phone. Although very busy, she worked me in with a next-day appointment. A computer diagnostic check identified the problem, and the technicians resolved the issue in a few hours.

The price for the testing and repair work and parts was very reasonable. This family owned business is a great asset for its local community and all of Cherokee County.

Thank you, Galloway’s Automotive, for getting me safely back on the road again.

Time for birth, time for death

Many of you probably have not heard that my older brother, Richard, got Covid-19 last month and passed away in Florida. He was in good health.

I got to reading in the Bible from the book of Ecclesiastes 3:2 which reads: “There is a time to be born and a time to die.” If my brother had chosen to have the shot, would he not have died?

According to God’s word, when our time here on Earth is over and the Lord calls us home, nothing else really matters. We can take whatever meds or shots to no avail when God is calling the shots. These two terms – born and die – are natural events in human life, and all are under the hand of our living God above.

Whatever folks decide to do, shot or not, our lives are not our own. They have always been in the care of a loving God who created life and death, and nothing in this world can stop God’s hand of providence from being fulfilled when our time is up.

Yes, live your life like it might be your last day and give the Lord Jesus praise and worship Him in Spirit and truth, for none of us are promised tomorrow or even today’s setting sun. Be prepared to meet your Creator, God, at any moment, and I pray you know Him as your personal Savior and eternal friend.

My dear brother did and now he is home at last basking in the beauty of our Savior, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
