Calhoun Falls, S.C. – The Andrews varsity football team is back in the win column with a 49-0 win on the road Friday night against Calhoun Falls Charter.
The Wildcats (3-1) got the scoring going early with 14 points in the first quarter. They had a quiet second quarter, taking their 14-0 lead into halftime.
Coming out of halftime, they had a strong showing with 28 points in the third quarter, then added on seven more in the fourth quarter to win 49-0. The Wildcats’ defense came up big Friday night, holding Calhoun Falls Charter (1-3) to 0 points.
Wildcats quarterback Everett Tatham had 11 carries for 120 yards and was 4-6 with 56 yards in the air with a touchdown.
The run game was huge for the Cats. Eli Aguilar had 155 yards on 18 carries that led to four touchdowns. He also had one reception for four yards. LaDannien Rattler had four carries for 34 yards. Brady McLelland had two carries for 42 yards and a touchdown as well as one reception for five yards.
Holden Todd had two carries for five yards, Kelby Waldroup had three carries for 36 yards that led to a touchdown, Peanut Garrett had two carries for 18 yards and Will Roberts had one reception for 46 yards.
In total, the Wildcats had 468 yards of offense Friday night – 412 yards on the ground and 56 in the air. Six of the touchdowns were rushing, while one was in the air.
On defense, Roberts and Landon Greene had four solo tackles each; Roberts also had four tackle assists. Jerry Cable had two solo tackles and seven tackles assists. Tatham had three solo tackles and two assists.
Aguilar and Waldroup, as well as Braxton Rickett had two solo tackles.
Kicker Micah Gibson was 7-7 on extra points.
The Wildcats return home Friday for their homecoming game against Southside Christian (1-3). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. This is their last non-conference game.
