Kernersville – Tri-County Early College phenom Sydney Bolyard wrapped up her cross-country career with the Lady Jaguars by finishing ninth in the N.C. High School Athletic Association class 1A girls cross-country championship in Hendersonville on Saturday.
The senior’s ninth-place finish was the second year in a row that she placed in the top 10 at the state meet, as the Lady Jaguars runner finished in sixth place at last season’s state meet.
Bolyard also qualified for and competed at the championship meet as a freshman and a sophomore.
Bolyard wasn’t the only Jaguar taking part in the competition, as her fellow senior on the boys side, Sage Sorensen, finished 38th in the state with a time of 18:14.
