Franklin – The Cherokee County Aquatic Club placed third out of five teams at the Mountain Swim League Conference Meet, which took place Saturday.
The team will compete again at the Mountain Swim League All-Star Meet on Saturday in Sylva. Below are the swimmers who had top-10 finishes.
- Eligah Whitney in the boys 6 & under age group placed second in the 25 freestyle, and in the boys 8 & under age group placed fifth in the 50 freestyle, eighth in the 25 backstroke and 10th in the 25 breaststroke.
- Loreli Whitney in the girls 8 & under age group placed second in the 25 freestyle, third in the 25 backstroke, fourth in the 25 butterfly and sixth in the 25 breaststroke.
- Natalie Lowrance in the girls 8 & under age group placed second in the 25 breaststroke, third in the 25 freestyle, fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 25 backstroke.
- Estelle Vaughn in the girls 9-10 age group placed fifth in the 100 freestyle and eighth in the 50 freestyle and 50 backstroke.
- Jasher Godsey in the boys 9-10 age group placed second in the 100 freestyle, third in the 50 freestyle, fourth in the 50 butterfly and eighth in the 50 backstroke.
- Talon Mathis in the boys 9-10 age group placed sixth in the 100 freestyle and 10th in the 50 backstroke.
- Beth Beasley in the girls 11-12 age group placed second in the 50 butterfly, fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 50 backstroke and 100 freestyle.
- Sophie Evans in the girls 11-12 age group placed second in the 50 freestyle and fourth in the 100 freestyle.
- Connor Whitney in the boys 11-12 age group placed second in the 50 backstroke and third in the 100 freestyle, 50 breaststroke and 100 individual medley.
- Fern Crayton in the girls 13-14 age group placed first in the 100 breaststroke and second in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
- Ariana Rivas in the girls 15-18 age group placed first in the 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly and second in the 50 freestyle.
