Pro-wrestling with kendo sticks, barbecue sauce
Peachtree – Saturday night is indeed alright for fighting, as chaos and carnage ensued during Saturday night’s main event match at American Championship Wrestling Federation’s monthly event, “Thanksgiving Chaos.”
The main event began with Frodo of the Men of Honor coming to the ring carrying a soon-to-be-infamous metal trash can of weapons. The trash can, which was destroyed during the match, contained various weapons like bats, barbed wire, kendo sticks and even metal baking sheets.
Stryker and Mountain Man Jeremy Stiles followed Frodo to the ring with looks of determination for the match ahead of them.
Flex Ferguson came to the ring and began talking trash to the Men of Honor. As he was talking, Axel Freakin Gunn and Killshot of the American Outlaws bust through the back door of the Peachtree Community Center, ran into the ring and began attacking the Men of Honor.
Jeff the Ref could only do so much to contain the chaos that was taking place as all three men began fighting. Stryker was fighting Gunn, Stiles was fighting Killshot and Frodo was taking on his rival Ferguson.
Fighting took place in and out of the ring. Eventually, the fighting spilled outside and into the crowd, as Frodo and Ferguson made their way to the concession stand taking turns hitting each other. Frodo knocked down Ferguson, then Frodo grabbed a bottle of barbecue sauce and squirted it in his face.
As the match continued, Stiles and Killshot disappeared from the ring. They reappeared through the back door, bloodied from fighting outside of the center.
They came back inside, and the bloodshed only got worse.
As Frodo and Ferguson continued going back and forth, Frodo grabbed a can of Coca-Cola and poured it all over Ferguson. Ferguson then grabbed a can of Mountain Dew and returned the favor, pouring it on Frodo.
The loud crack of kendo stick and metal baking sheet strikes echoed from the building as Gunn and Stryker changed blows.
As the carnage continued, Frodo and Ferguson found themselves the final two in the ring. Jeff the Ref stepped in and called the match. Per the rules that were established last week, the final two men left standing in the ring were to be declared ACWF tag-team champions, no matter what group they were apart of.
Frodo and Ferguson got their tag titles, then exchanged words in the ring with both of them proudly holding their titles even though they were disgusted that they were from different groups.
Left in the ring were piles of thumb tacks and Lego pieces that multiple people were slammed on, a steel chair, kendo sticks and the crumpled remains of the metal trash can.
Prior to the main event, Digger James successfully defended his ACWF championship belt against The Freak.
The big slams and top-rope moves were on display by Digger James throughout the match. As James came to the ring, there was a loud cheer from the crowd.
Prior to that match, Mike Clay successfully defended his U.S. championship against Flex Ferguson. The crowd booed Clay from the time he made his way to the ring prior to the match until he left.
Clay retained his title after flipping the pin on Ferguson. Ferguson hit his finishing move on Clay, then pinned him. Clay flipped the pin quickly and caught Ferguson off guard. After the match, Clay got on the microphone and addressed the crowd to resounding boos.
In the opening match of the night, MD King took on Billy Havoc.
It was a back and forth match that got loud cheers from the crowd. Billy Havoc got the win and the crowd responded with a loud cheer as they did when he came out for the match. MD King was trashing talking members of the crowd before the match and was arguing with Jeff the Ref during the match arguing against some of his rulings.
After Saturday night’s show, ACWF continued to raise money by selling raffle tickets for $1 that went to Toys for Tots. For $1, fans got to throw a plate of shaving cream on a wrestler of their choosing. To his dismay, Mike Clay got chosen multiple times.
They collected lots of toys and raised $244 for Toys for Tots, ACWF said on Facebook following the event. ACWF will return to the Peachtree Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 14, for its final show of the year.
