Kids Fishing on Saturday
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Kids’ Fishing Day on Saturday at the sheriff’s office firing range off of U.S. 19/74.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the event will begin at 9 a.m. Participants are required to bring their own fishing pole, but bait will be free.

Rotary golf tourney set
The 2022 Golf Tournament of Champions sponsored by the Rotary Club of Murphy will tee off at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Mountain Harbor Golf Club off U.S. 64 East.
The format is a two player Captain’s Choice and cost $200 per team, which includes green and cart fees. Appropriate golf attire must be worn. Team fees will go toward payouts estimated to be from $600 for first place to $100 for seventh.
Sponsors are needed for the Rotary Club to raise money for youth scholarships and supporting good causes in the community.

Golf Classic set May 11
The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce’s Golf Classic will take place Wednesday, May 11, at Mountain Harbor Golf Club off U.S. 64 East.
The competition will be a four-person scramble, with first place getting $600, second place $450 and third place $300. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., and the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.
