Kids Fishing Day April 30
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Kids’ Fishing Day on Saturday, April 30, at the sheriff’s office firing range.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the event will begin at 9 a.m. Participants are required to bring their own fishing pole, but bait will be free.

Register for Senior Games
Registration for this year’s Cherokee County Senior Games has begun at cherokeecountyseniorgames.org or via a paper registration form at any senior center in Cherokee and Clay counties. It costs $15 to participate in the event.
The games start Saturday, April 30, and end Saturday, May 21, and you can register until the start of the games. People ages 50 and up can participate, and five-year age divisions will be used for the competitions for each event. The games also include Silver Arts, which is a visual, heritage, literary and performing arts competition.

Golf Classic set May 11
The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce’s Golf Classic will take place Wednesday, May 11, at Mountain Harbor Golf Club off U.S. 64 East.
The competition will be a four-person scramble, with first place getting $600, second place $450 and third place $300. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m., and the tournament will begin at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.
