Wrestling into top 3
Five of the 10 wrestlers Murphy sent to the Carolina Clash in Tryon placed in the top three of their respective brackets.
Robert Chastain took first in the men’s junior varsity 182-pound division, while Dalton Farmer and Luke Hyde took second in the boys JV 113- and 120-pound weight classes, respectively. Zach Kessler placed third in the boys JV 138-pound weight class, while Aiden Smith did the same in the girls 152-pound weight class.
The Bulldogs have their last dual meet of the season Friday against Hayesville and Andrews.
