Aquatic club finishes 3rd
The Cherokee County Aquatic Club had several swimmers participate in the Mountain Swim League All-Star Meet on July 23, where they placed third.
These club swimmers had top-six finishes:
Natalie Lowrance in the girls 8 & under age group placed second in the 25 breaststroke, third in the 25 and 50 freestyle and fourth in the 25 backstroke. She scored the third most points in her age group.
Loreli Whitney in the girls 8 & under age group placed third in the 25 backstroke, 25 breaststroke and 25 butterfly and fourth in the 25 freestyle.
Jasher Godsey in the boys 9-10 age group placed third in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 50 freestyle
Beth Beasley in the girls 11-12 age group placed fourth in the 50 backstroke and fifth in the 100 freestyle.
Sophia Evans in the girls 11-12 age group placed second in the 100 freestyle, fifth in the 50 freestyle and sixth in the 50 backstroke.
Connor Whitney in the boys 11-12 age group placed first in the 50 backstroke, second in the 50 butterfly and 100 individual medley and fourth in the 50 breaststroke. He scored the third most points in his age group.
Fern Crayton in the girls 13-14 age group placed first in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM and second in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly. She scored the second most points in her age group.
Ariana Rivas in the girls 15-18 age group placed first in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM and second in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. She scored the second most points in her age group.
Crayton and Rivas competed in the AAU Junior Olympics in Greensboro from July 28-31. Crayton swam best times in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, while Rivas swam best times in all four events.
