RACING

Oliver earns $12,000 win

Jamie Oliver, co-promoter at Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, proudly stood on victory lane after getting the win in the Southern All-Star Dirt Racing Series’ race at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, S.C.

Oliver started from the pole position in Friday night’s race. He secured the win and $12,000, the biggest check of his racing career.

WRESTLING

ACWF hosts benefit show

The American Championship Wrestling Federation hosted a benefit show Saturday night to raise money for Brenda Lee McMillian and family.

The show was sold out, marking the ACWF’s sixth-straight sold-out show at the Peachtree Community Center. Lots of money was raised for the McMillians, and fans were treated to action-packed matches Saturday night.

The ACWF will return to Peachtree on Saturday, Oct. 4, for Rage in a Cage.

Four Square pickleball set

Four Square Community Action is hosting Pickleball “FOUR” a Purpose on Saturday at the Murphy pickleball courts.

Registration begins at 1 p.m., while matches begin at 2 p.m. The rain date is Sunday.
