Cook joining all-time team
Murphy alum and Western Carolina University graduate Matt Cook was named to the Southern Conference’s 100th anniversary men’s golf team.
Cook golfed for the Catamounts from 2004-08, winning Southern Conference championship in 2006 and 2008. He was named first team All-Conference in 2007.
Cook graduated from Murphy in 2004, won a state championship in 2002 and led the Bulldogs to a team state championship appearance in 2004. His score of 140 for 2002 is the second lowest for a 1A champion since the N.C. High School Athletic Association went to four classifications in 1998.
