Not only was Nantahala senior Breanna Passmore (center) selected to play in the sixth annual West-Midwest All-Star game, she was also one of 11 players awarded a $250 scholarship. The West defeated the Midwest twice – 71-48 in the girls game, and 98-95 in the boys game. Hiwassee Dam senior Sam Bradford was named Most Valuable Player of the boys game after scoring a game-high 21 points. Eagles senior Kolby Stiles and Murphy senior Hunter Laney participated in the boys game. Meanwhile, Andrews senior Emily Mealer as well as Murphy seniors Calista Adams, Amber Martin and Torin Rogers were selected to play in the girls game but did not attend.
