Murphy – On a wet and muddy Friday night, the Murphy Bulldogs (7-1) dominated the Rosman Tigers (1-7) 43-6 on Senior Night behind strong running by senior running back Devonte Murray.
As the rain poured down at an outstanding rate, both teams struggled to move to football in the opening quarter, with neither team putting together any substantial drives and heading into the second quarter tied 0-0.
The Bulldogs finally found their footing in the waning minutes of the first half, as senior running back Devonte Murray broke free for a long touchdown to get Murphy on the board.
Murphys' defense came up with a stop and earned the Bulldogs another offensive possession before the half, which the Dogs took advantage of.
Once again, Murray danced his way around Rosman defenders for a long Murphy touchdown and in the blink of an eye, the Bulldogs were ahead 15-0 headed into the half.
As the rain died down in the second half, the Bulldogs went to work extending their lead.
Murray would add two more long touchdown runs in the second half and Justice Dorsey and Ray Rathburn added scoring runs of their own to push the Bulldogs ahead.
The Bulldogs will head to Cherokee next week to take on the Braves (2-8).
