Murphy softball racked up the runs as the Bulldogs took on in-county rivals Andrews.
The Lady Bulldogs varsity squad scored 35 runs across their two games against the Wildcats as they got the series sweep.
In the first game the Dogs scored 20, then they scored 15 runs in the second game.
Cats fall at home
The Dogs and Cats met for the first time this season in Andrews on April 14. In a high-scoring affair, the Lady Bulldogs won 20-0.
Murphy got on the board early as the Lady Dogs drove in six runs in the top of the first inning.
After a scoreless second inning, the Dogs scored three more runs to lead 9-0.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Lady Dogs scored 11 runs to take a 20-0 lead. They then held Andrews scoreless in the bottom of the fourth to win the game.
Multiple Lady Bulldogs had a multi-run game. Gracie Thrasher, Piper Dalton and Gracie Palmer scored three runs each. Aa’Liyah Grant, Zadah Lewis and Grace Moore scored two runs each.
Thrasher, Moore and Emma Hensley had two hits each. Moore led the team with five RBI.
The Lady Dogs had 13 stolen bases, led by Thrasher and Dalton with three each.
It was an easy outing for pitcher Paisley Johnson as they allowed one hit in her 28-pitch game. She struck out three of the 13 Andrews batters she faced.
Andrews had only one player reach base as Lauren Cochran had their only hit.
Cochran, as well as Azlyn DeHart and Chanteah Rattler pitched for the Lady Wildcats in the loss.
Dogs get sweep
Murphy got the series sweep when the two teams met in Murphy on Friday. The Lady Dogs won 15-0 in the three inning ballgame.
The first winning was scoreless, then the Dogs started the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the second inning.
The Lady Bulldogs then drove in 11 runs in the bottom of the third inning to lead 15-0, earning the run rule win.
Thrasher and Dalton had another three-run game, leading the team. Thrasher also led the team with three hits.
Gracie Hall and Grant led the team with three RBI each. Thrasher and Dalton also led the team with two stolen bases each.
It was another quick outing for Johnson as she threw 40 pitches Friday. She allowed one hit and struck out six of the 10 batters she faced.
Chloe Patterson had Andrews’ lone hit in Friday’s contest.
Cochran and Rattler combined in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Wildcats in Friday’s loss.

Murphy will return to the field today as the team heads to Sylva to face Smoky Mountain at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs will then wrap up their series with Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. Friday. They will then face Robbinsville at home at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Andrews will face Hayesville on the road Thursday, then return home Friday to face the Lady Yellow Jackets. Both games are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Wildcats will then face Cherokee on the road at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
