Franklin – Bouncing back from a loss tough to Robbinsville on Sept. 5, the Murphy Lady Bulldogs had a strong week on the road.
Murphy started out the week downing the Rosman Lady Tigers 3-1. After losing the first set 25-22, the Lady Bulldogs took the next three sets 25-12, 25-23, and 25-17 for the win.
Next, the Lady Bulldogs took down the Swain County Lady Braves in straight sets, 25-14, 25-23, and 25-17.
Murphy started out the new week matching up against the Franklin Lady Panthers, who the Lady Bulldogs defeated in five sets earlier in the season.
However this time, the Lady Panthers had their revenge, downing Murphy 25-18 in the first set, 25-17 in the second set and 25-22 in the fourth set, while the Lady Bulldogs claimed the third set 25-23.
Murphy (9-2) topped Hiwassee Dam at home in straight sets Tuesday after the Cherokee Scout’s press time.
