Whittier – Smoky Mountain Conference boys golf played a match at Smoky Mountain Country Club in Whittier before Cherokee County schools went on spring break.
Andrews and Murphy, as well as Nantahala played the par 37 front nine in the Swain Royal Rumble match.
Murphy came in fourth place as a team after shooting 197.
Leading the Bulldogs was Easton Manuel, who had a round of 46 to finish tied for eighth place.
Elijah Kernley shot 49 to finish tied for 16th. Brady Grant and Brody Orton both shot 51 to finish in a tie for 22nd. Abram Twiggs shot 59 to finish tied for 32nd.
Andrews finished in a tie for fifth with Highlands after both teams shot 199.
Brady Queen had another strong round as he finished tied for second place after shooting 41.
Tucker Stalcup finished in solo sixth place after a round of 44. Braylen Maennle shot 54 to finish in a tie for 25th. Jayce Donaldson shot 60 to finish in solo 34th.
Nantahala was also at the match and shot 191 as a team to finish in third place.
Rory Blackwell led the Hawks with a round of 43 to finish in a tie for fourth place.
Cole McCoy and Landon Neal both shot 49 to finish in a tie for 16th. Hunter Bryant, in his first event of the season, shot 50 to finish tied for 20th. Fernando Trejo shot 57 to finish in solo 29th.
Cherokee won the event as they shot 177 as a team, led by Jae McMillan who shot 41 to finish tied for second place.
Swain County came in second place after shooting 184. The Maroon Devils were led by event winner Dean Henderson, who had a round of two-under 35.
Robbinsville came in seventh place as they shot 203 as a team, led by Avery Brown who finished in seventh place after a round of 45.
Tri-County Early College boys golfer Hayden Blanton was in action on Thursday as he played Mountain Harbour Golf Club in Hayesville against Hayesville.
Blanton shot 61, tying his lowest round of the season.
