Andrews boys advance to 7-0
Andrews – Another two games and another two dominant wins have the Andrews Wildcats rolling early this season at 7-0.
The Wildcats got out to an early lead on Blue Ridge in the first quarter and didn’t look back.
By the end of the first frame, Andrews led the Bobcats 20-4 and the Cats further expanded upon their lead in the second quarter.
With more of the same occurring in the second half, Andrews defended their home court with the whopping 75-44 win.
Senior Landon White led the Wildcats with 18 points on an efficient shooting night of 8-12 from the floor.
Juniors Kabe Ellis and Tucker Holloway combined for 30 points and five steals between the two in the victory for Andrews.
The Wildcats once again jumped out to an early lead in their following game against Towns County.
The Cats produced a double-digit lead in the opening frame, leading 26-5 heading into the second quarter.
Andrews finished with a 45-point lead over the Indians, taking home the 86-41 win for their seventh of the season.
Ellis led the Cats with a team-high 22 points and four 3-pointers in the victory.
The guard also grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and came away with two steals for Andrews.
Holloway poured in 19 points of his own against the Indians and knocked down five 3-pointers on the night.
Junior Gage Gillespie rounded out the Wildcats’ double-digit scorers, while White and junior Gavin Wilson both scored nine points apiece.
Andrews will look to continue their hot start to the season on Dec. 27-28 at the Swain County Christmas Tournament.
