The final week of the basketball regular season has arrived. This week is set to be busier than teams would have liked, but it’s that way because of recent ice and snow storms.
Hiwassee Dam will honor its seniors Tuesday night, while Nantahala’s seniors will be honored Thursday night.
Thursday night will be important as Murphy faces Robbinsville and Andrews faces Cherokee. The winner of the Murphy vs. Robbinsville boys game will likely determine the No. 1 seed heading into the Smoky Mountain Conference tournament.
Wrestling will be in action this week in the boys dual team tournament and girls regional tournament.
The week will wrap up with Tri-County Early College’s Fern Crayton and Sophia Evans swimming in the state championship.
