The final week of the fall regular season has arrived as far-western North Carolina closes out a busy October.

Football and boys soccer will wrap up their regular seasons this week, with soccer ending Wednesday and football coming to a close Friday. Teams will then look ahead to the playoffs.

All three soccer teams will wrap up the season Wednesday with Murphy and Andrews playing at home, as well as Tri-County Early College playing on the road. Murphy hopes for a winning week as they inch closer to winning the Smoky Mountain Conference.

It will be a spooky regular season finale as football plays on Halloween night. Whether there will be tricks or treats is yet to be seen. For Murphy, the Bulldogs hope for a treat as they look to win the Smoky Mountain Conference for a second straight season.

Cross country will also wrap up the season this week, as local runners head to the state championship Friday.
