Wrestlers from Andrews and Murphy high schools competed Friday and Saturday in the 1A West regional tournament.
Anthony Catuto of Murphy made it the farthest, falling in the semifinal round.

Catuto started the tournament with a win by technical fall to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, he got a win by fall over Michel Gayosso of Cherokee to advance.
In the semifinal round, Catuto lost by technical fall. He wrestled again in the consolation semifinal round and lost by decision.
Jake Miller in the 113-pound weight class lost his first-round matchup by a 7-4 decision. He won a consolation first-round match by fall, then lost in the second round by fall.
Josiah Niebla in the 120-pound weight class loss in the first round to Ethan Webster of Robbinsville. In the consolation bracket, Niebla won his first- and second-round matches. In the third round, he lost by fall.
Daniel Chastain in the 132-pound division lost his first round match by fall. He then lost his first-round match in the consolation bracket by fall.
Trenton Cook in the 144-pound division lost his first-round match by fall. In the consolation bracket, he also lost the first-round match by fall.
Brody McFaddin in the 150-pound weight class won his first-round match by technical fall. In the quarterfinals, he lost by fall to Andrew Reynolds of Hayesville. In the second round of the consolation bracket, he won by fall, then lost by technical fall in the third round.
Branson Crocker in the 157-pound division received a first-round bye before losing by fall in the quarterfinals. In the second round of the consolation bracket, he got the win by fall, then lost in the third round by fall to Trevor Hill-Ledford of Cherokee.
Kane Gibson in the 215-pound division lost his first-round match by fall, then lost his first-round match in the consolation bracket.
Reese Haney in the heavyweight division lost in the first round to Jonah Teesateskie of Robbinsville. Then in the consolation bracket, he won his first round match by fall, but then lost by fall to Rayland Martinez of Hayesville.
On Feb. 7-8, Ivy Werner competed in the women’s west regional tournament. She lost her first-round matchup, but got the win by fall in the first round of the consolation bracket. She then lost by fall in the second round of the consolation bracket.

The Wildcats had three wrestlers qualify for the regional tournament.
Ethan Davis in the 120-pound weight class lost his first-round match by fall. In the first round of the consolation bracket, he won by an 11-6 decision over Cooper Treptow of Hayesville. In the second round of the consolation bracket, he lost by fall to Ethan Webster of Robbinsville.
Chase Beasley in the 138-pound division lost his first-round matchup by fall. In the first round of the consolation bracket, he won by majority decision over Jameson Dawson of Hayesville. In the second round of the consolation bracket, he lost by technical fall.
Hayden Virtanen in the 175-pound weight class lost by fall in the first round. He then lost by fall in the first round of the consolation bracket.
Neither team qualified for the state tournament.
