Peachtree – Fans crowded the Peachtree Community Center on Saturday night for eight action-packed matches inside the squared circle.
The American Championship Wrestling Federation returned for its monthly event and did not disappoint in its 11th straight sold-out show. The show opened with Axel Freakin’ Gunn taking on Geno and Vinny of The Family in a handicap match.
Gunn got the win by disqualification after he framed Vinny for hitting him with the championship belt. Vinny didn’t hit Gunn with the belt, but Gunn made the ref think he did in a classic wrestling maneuver.
Gunn’s trickery allowed for him to secure the win in the opening match.
James Xero then took on MD King in a match with bad blood. Both men don’t like each other, and it came to blows Saturday night. After some assistance from Moki outside the ring, James Xero got the win.
Up next was Kevin Seiber of the American Outlaws taking on Ace Hart for Seiber’s ACWF light heavyweight championship. Hart had Seiber in a submission hold, which led to Seiber tapping out.
Except the referee didn’t see the tap. Hart got up and celebrated, thinking he had won the title. Seiber then got up, hit Hart with a low blow and rolled him into the three-count to retain his championship title.
In the first tag-team match of the night, Void and Billy Havoc took on Mountain Man Jeremy Stiles and Frodo. Stiles and Frodo secured the win after Stiles put Void in a sleeper hold until Void was out.
After the match, Frodo asked Void to come back and join them as Men of Honor again, but Void attacked Frodo and Stiles with a metal chain wrapped around his fist.
Stiles then threw Void out of the ring and headed back to the locker room.
After the intermission, BK Bennett came to the ring and announced an open challenge to anyone willing to take him on. Robert Starr answered the call and made his way to the ring to take on Bennett.
Both men went back and forth during the match, but Bennett hit Star into the ropes and hit him with the signature high flying 619 move. After frog-splashing Starr from the top rope, Bennett got the pin and won the match.
In a No. 1 contender match for Seiber’s title, Dion Mercer took on Flex Ferguson. They went back and forth, with Mercer wearing down Ferguson, before Mercer landed back-to-back sweet chin-music kicks.
Ferguson looked down and out, but he reversed a move on Mercer and hit a huge slam leading to the pin and three-count.
After the match, Seiber came to the ring and confronted Ferguson.
It was then announced that Ferguson’s title shot with Seiber will be at next month’s event.
In the final tag team match of the night, the ACWF tag-team champions Digger James and Moki took on KZito.
Both tag teams went at it in the ring, landing big moves during the match. After a distraction from Frodo, Vito landed a big move and got the pin.
With the win, KZito got their tag title back.
After the match, Digger James turned on Moki and James Zero, landing big hits on them after the match.
He returned to the locker room with them face down in the ring.
It was then announced that next month, Frodo will take on Moki.
In the main event of the evening, Killshot of the American Outlaws took on Cousin Conjuring. It was a heavy-hitting match with each slam shaking the Peachtree Community Center. Both men ended up fighting outside of the ring and then match ended after a double count out.
The ACWF returns to the Peachtree center on March 7. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the show starting at 6 p.m.
