The Andrews varsity softball team were in action on the diamond as they played a two-game series against Swain County.
The Lady Wildcats suffered two losses to the Maroon Devils as the Cats are still searching for their first win of the season.
Cats fall at home
The Lady Wildcats played their second straight home game when they hosted Swain on March 31. Andrews fell 18-0 on home turf.
The contest started with a scoreless first inning, the Swain got on the board with four runs in the top of the second inning.
Swain then had a huge inning, scoring 14 runs in the top of the third inning to lead 18-0.
The Wildcats were held scoreless and lost to the Maroon Devils 18-0.
The Lady Cats were held to one hit as Lauren Cochran got the lone base knock.
Cochran and Azlyn DeHart split time in the pitchers circle in the loss.
Cats lose 14-1
Andrews was back in action Thursday as they traveled to Bryson City for the second game in the series with Swain.
The Lady Wildcats lost 14-1 in the five-inning contest.
Swain got on the board first with one run in the bottom of the first inning. They then extended the lead with four runs to lead 5-0 through two innings.
In the bottom of the third, the Lady Devils added one more run to lead 6-0.
Andrews got on the board for its first run of the series as Kori Harrelson crossed home plate in the top of the fourth inning.
Swain then scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to lead 14-1. They then held the Lady Wildcats scoreless in the top of the fifth to win the game 14-1.
Harrelson scored the Cats’ lone run after getting a hit. DeHart and Chanteah Rattler also had one hit each.
DeHart also got on base after being hit by a pitch.
Harrelson also had two stolen bases in the game.
Cochran and Rattler split time in the pitchers circle in the loss.

When they return from spring break, the Andrews Wildcats will take on in-county rivals Murphy in a two-game series.
First, at home on Tuesday, then in Murphy on Friday, April 17.
Both games are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
