Peachtree – Big slams and brawls kicked off the American Championship Wrestling Federation’s first event of 2025.
ACWF kicked off 2025 with “New Year’s Retribution” at the Peachtree Community Center on Saturday night. In the main event, The Freak defended with ACWF championship against Kevin Seiber of The American Outlaws.
After going back and forth, Freak grabbed his championship belt from the corner of the ring and hit Seiber with it. This ended the match by disqualification, but a title can’t change hands by DQ.
After the match, Digger James came to the ring and attacked Freak and also hit Jeff the Ref. As Jeff laid on the mat, the locker room emptied and wrestlers came to check on him while Digger James stared them down.
In the match prior, Mr. Atlanta 2 took on Digger James. After big slams and hard hits that echoed through the building, Mr. Atlanta 2 defeated James. During the match, Freak came out to confront James.
After a verbal dispute between them, Jeff began talking to James. While they were talking, Freak slid Mr. Atlanta 2 a small weapon, which he subsequently used to knock out James to get the pin and win the match.
Prior to that match, ACWF U.S. champion Axel Freakin’ Gunn defended his belt against Robert Starr. Both men exchanged blows to start the match, then Starr was called crazy and went ballistic.
The two men then were in the middle of the ring exchanged hard-hitting elbow strikes. After they got up, Starr hit a German suplex. Both men rolled out of the ring and exchanged blows, but they were out of the ring too long and the match ended after Jeff the Ref gave a 10-count.
Gunn retained his U.S. title and will likely defend it at next month’s event.
Before that, the packed Peachtree Community Center saw tag-team action where Frodo and Flex Ferguson took on Mountain Man Jeremy Stiles and Miguel Payne. It was clear from the get go that Frodo and Flex still have differences, despite being tag-team champions together.
Flex was celebrating his birthday Saturday and the fans sang him happy birthday prior to the match. Seiber came to the ring with Flex, but Jeff the Ref barred him from ringside before the match even started.
After all four men went at it in the hard-hitting match, Flex hit a dropkick on Stiles then pinned him to win the match. El Fabuloso came to the ring during the match to root on his favorite wrestler Jeremy Stiles. Stiles was frustrated by him being there and took out his frustration on El Fabuloso by beating him up after he lost the match.
Stiles then took to the microphone to challenge his biggest fan, El Fabuloso, to a match next month.
In the third match Saturday night, Killshot of The American Outlaws took on Stryker of Men of Honor.
Before the bell even rang, Killshot rushed Stryker and attacked him. The match was an all-out brawl with massive hits, with Stryker showing off his grappling skills. The match ended in a double disqualification after the two men didn’t listen to Jeff the Ref trying to break them up as they continued to relentlessly hit each other.
In the second match, MD King took on Billy Havoc. Things got heavy as Havoc and MD King exchanged blows throughout the match. As they fought, Ghost menacingly made his way to the ring. Ghost stepped into the ring and first hit MD King with his flaming hand, which ended the match in a disqualification because of interference. Ghost then hit Havoc with the flaming hand.
As both men were reeling in pain, MD King got on the microphone and demanded a match against Ghost next month or he leaves ACWF. Ghost accepted the challenge, and Billy Havoc was announced as the match’s special referee.
In the opening match, Frodo took on Miguel Payne. Frodo controlled the match from the get go, but Payne as resilient and kicked out of Frodo’s pins multiple times. Frodo reversed an Irish whip and hit Payne with a stunner to get the pin and the win.
ACWF will return to the Peachtree Community Center on Saturday, Feb. 1, for their next event. They will return with another action-packed show.
