Texana – One Dozen Who Care Inc. will host a benefit fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Texana Community Center, 29 Texana Community Center Road.
The western North Carolina faith and gospel communities are coming together to support those affected by the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene in the region.
The community is invited to attend and support this worthy cause. All proceeds will go toward helping those affected by the hurricane’s in western North Carolina.
The event promises to be an unforgettable experience with a “Southern brunch” provided.
It features an impressive lineup of African-American stars from the local faith and gospel community. The locally beloved Rev. Louis Grant of Asheville will serve as the master of ceremonies. African-American personalities of the local community Marie Oliver and Paulette Blackwell will perform, along with Messengers for Christ featuring Dawn Colbert, Farrah Eller and Tanesha Allen; as well as the Liberty Baptist Church choir of Sylva God’s Cargo Quartet with Murphy’s Robert “Rob” Allen from Alcoa, Tenn. A special highlight of the program will be a praise dance performance by Michelle Lloyd, accompanied by the exceptional vocals of Eller.
One Dozen Who Care extends its gratitude to all who have supported the Multicultural Women’s Development Conference and Small Business Center over the years since 2000. Next year’s conference will return April 4-5, 2025, at the Hinton Rural Life Center in Hayesville.
