I am honored to be seeking a second term on the Murphy Town Council.

As a wife, mother and resident, I’ve spent decades living, working and raising a family while supporting the downtown businesses, schools and churches that make our town strong. This is my home, and I care deeply about Murphy’s rich history as well as its bright future.

Serving for the past four years on the town board, I learned firsthand how careful planning, working together and sound decision-making can have a huge impact on achieving goals and accomplishing improvements in our town. It has been a privilege to see Murphy secure federal and state funding for key projects, including:

  • downtown waterline replacement and sewer upgrades;
  • enhancing downtown landscape and pocket parks;
  • purchasing new equipment and vehicles for various town departments;
  • pedestrian safety with new sidewalks, crosswalks and good lighting;
  • enhancements and upgrades to our fire and police departments;
  • supported construction of a 56 unit affordable housing project;
  • expansion and upgrades of our beautiful River Walk.

Through responsible money management and multiple grant awards, the Town of Murphy consistently maintains a strong fund balance. This allows us to move forward with essential improvements when needs arise. There are a lot of projects in full swing, and I am committed to working with town officials and fellow board members to see these jobs to completion.

I believe citizens and elected leaders need to work together to find solutions that will improve our town, our state and our country. Some personal traits I bring to the town council include a strong work ethic, empathy, a collaborative spirit and a good understanding of Murphy’s history, families and institutions.

I am dedicated to continue serving you and helping make Murphy thrive – today and for generations to come.

I thank you for your trust and support, and respectfully ask for your vote in the upcoming November municipal election.
