Carter allegedly rammed Wood’s patrol car during a chase, causing property damage in excess of $1,000, according to court records. There was no report of any injuries.
Carter was driving without a license in a car with an expired registration. Law enforcement also alleged that Carter had a half-ounce or less of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.
Carter was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, after the Cherokee Scout’s deadline for this week’s edition. It was his second encounter with law enforcement that day.
Earlier, a N.C. Highway Patrol trooper stopped him for speeding, driving without a license, driving left of center, driving without a seat belt and driving with unsafe tires.
